Privacy policy

We do not sell your data, and we never will. There is no advertising on this site and no third-party tracking. We do not run analytics that follow you across the web.
We do not keep your broadcast. Your stream passes through the relay and is forwarded to the platforms you chose, and no copy is kept — unless you turn clip recording on. If you do, the relay holds a temporary recording of your most recent stream so you have something to clip from. It is replaced by your next stream, deleted within 48 hours, and you can switch it off.
Who holds your data
The data controller is Rogue Vikings, a sole proprietorship based in Ontario, Canada. For anything about your data — to see it, correct it, or have it deleted — email roguevikings@outlook.com.
What we store, and why
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Your Discord account id, username and avatar | It is how you sign in. RV has no separate password to lose. | Until you ask us to delete the account |
| Your Discord server count, and whether you are in the Rogue Vikings server | To show your standing in the creator programme | Until you ask us to delete the account |
| Your email address at Stripe, not here | Billing receipts. RV itself does not keep a copy | Stripe keeps its own record for tax law |
| Your destination stream keys | To forward your stream to your platforms | Until you remove the destination |
| Your RV ingest key | To recognise your stream when it arrives | Stored only as a one-way hash, never in readable form |
| Session records: when you streamed, for how long, how much bandwidth | To meter your plan allowance and to bill honestly | While your account exists |
| A temporary recording of your latest stream, only if you switch clip recording on | So the clip editor has something to cut from | Replaced by your next stream, and deleted within 48 hours |
| Clips you make, until you delete them | They are yours to download and post | Deleted when you delete them, file included |
| The IP address you signed in from | Security: spotting a session that is not yours | Held with the sign-in session, and deleted 30 days after that session ends |
Your stream keys
A platform stream key is a password to your channel, so it is treated as one.
- Encrypted with AES-256-GCM before it is written to our database, under a key held only in our server environment and never in our code.
- Never returned to your browser. The dashboard shows you the last four characters and nothing more.
- Decrypted only at the moment a stream starts, to hand to the relay that forwards your video.
- Deleted when you delete the destination.
Your RV ingest key — the one you paste into OBS — is never stored in readable form at all. We keep a one-way hash and the last four characters. That is why rotating it shows it to you once: we cannot show it to you again, because we do not have it.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe, never to us — we never see or store a card number. We keep Stripe's customer and subscription identifiers so we know what you are entitled to, and the amount and date of what you paid.
Who else sees anything
We use a small number of services to run the product, and nothing beyond what each needs:
- Stripe — payments and billing.
- Discord — sign-in. We receive your id, username and avatar, how many servers you are in, and whether you are in the Rogue Vikings server. Signing in for the first time also adds you to the Rogue Vikings Discord server, which is where support happens; you can leave it at any time. We do not read your messages and we cannot.
- Our hosting and storage providers — they hold the servers and the clip storage.
- The platforms you choose — your stream goes to them, under your own accounts and your own keys, and their terms apply to what happens there.
We do not share your data with anyone else, and we do not sell it to anyone, ever.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Ask in the Rogue Vikings Discord and we will do it. Deleting your account removes your destinations, your stream keys, your clips and the files behind them, and your session history. Some billing records must be kept for tax law even after that, and Stripe keeps its own.
If you are in the UK or EU, the lawful bases we rely on are contract (we cannot provide the relay without your destinations and keys), legitimate interests (security and capacity planning), and legal obligation (billing records).
If you are in the UK or the EU
You are welcome here, and the rights described above are yours: access, correction, deletion, and the right to complain to your own supervisory authority.
We have not yet appointed a representative in the UK or the EU. Where one is required, it is a named local contact for people in those regions and for their regulators. We are a new and very small operation and have not appointed one yet; we would rather say so than imply we have.
In the meantime, write to roguevikings@outlook.com and we will answer. Nothing here reduces your rights or stops you contacting your own regulator directly.
Cookies and local storage
We store your sign-in session in your browser so you stay signed in. That is what it is for and it is the only thing of that kind we set. There are no advertising cookies and no cross-site trackers.
Children
RV-StreamRelay is not intended for anyone under 13, and under 16 in some countries. We do not knowingly hold data about children.
How to reach us
Email roguevikings@outlook.com. That address is monitored, and it is the right one for billing, refunds, privacy requests and anything that has gone wrong.
The Rogue Vikings Discord is usually faster for a question, and it is where the people who run the relay are. Use email for anything you want a record of.
